"I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."     (Matthew 25:40)

Education

KCCA annually provides $5,000 for 100 orphans to attend school in Uvira, Congo. This amount cost covers the cost of tuition, school supplies, shoes and uniforms for the students.

Sewing in Uvira

KCCA runs operates a community center where we teach widows and single mother to sew. Upon graduating from the program, these women are able to market their skills and earn money to support themselves.

Business startups

Women are taught basic business principals, and then provided with a small amount of cash to start their business.

Farming

In 2020 we purchased 5 hectares of land in Uvira Congo. The local residents, many of which are widows and orphans, grow enough maize (corn) to provide food throughout the year.

Livestock

In 2022 we began raising money to purchase livestock for the farm. Goats, pigs, chickens and cattle are being raised and bred for meat, eggs and dairy.

Fishing

We provided funds to purchase boats, motors, nets and other equipment to start a fishing business on Lake Tanganyika, a large lake near the school in Uvira.

Latest project

Mary and Joto purchased 25 sewing machines when they were in Congo  and 25 of the graduated students were chosen to receive them. Women (15 widows and 10 single mothers) who were the most hard working and dedicated in the sewing school program were chosen.  The women were so excited and grateful for this chance and the people that made it possible. They have much HOPE. KCCA will keep an eye on the program. Participants will be monitored and supported by KCCA and each seamstress will give KCCA $1/month.

Future Projects

  • Tractor  We hope to purchase a tractor for the farming operation. With a tractor we can farm more of our land and increase our overall output. With the additional output, the excess crop can be sold.

  • School  KCCA firmly believes in the importance of education in determining success. We would eventually like to build our own school which would ensure the ability for our orphans to attend school for generations to come.
